Togo Care Guide
Two materials, two routines. A few minutes a week keeps your Togo looking — and feeling — like the day it arrived.

- Both materials: vacuum or dust weekly, keep out of direct sunlight, avoid heat sources.
- Spot clean spills immediately — blot, never rub. The first 60 seconds matter most.
- Avoid bleach, alcohol, baby wipes, and "all-purpose" cleaners on either cover.

Pick your material
Togo covers come in two families. Use the switcher to focus on the routine that matches your piece — the steps are short, but the right steps depend on the material.
Fabric routine
Soft, breathable, and surprisingly forgiving
Togo fabric covers (microfibre, velvet, bouclé) are woven for daily living. A light weekly routine keeps the pile even, the color rich, and the cushions plump for years.
Routine
Weekly — vacuum gently
Use a soft upholstery brush attachment on low suction. Move with the weave, not against it. Pay extra attention to the seam channels where dust settles.
Weekly — rotate the cushions
Flip and swap the seat and back cushions. Even wear keeps the iconic Togo wrinkles uniform across the piece instead of forming a permanent dent where you always sit.
Monthly — fluff and reshape
Hand-pat the cushions back into their pleated shape. The Togo is meant to look lived-in, but a quick reshape brings back the volume after heavy weekends.
Yearly — deep clean
Book a professional upholstery clean once a year. Ask for a pH-neutral, low-moisture method. Avoid steam cleaning — heat and water can shrink the cover.
Spot cleaning & stains

| Water / coffee / tea | Blot immediately with a dry microfibre cloth. Then dab with lukewarm water. Never rub — it spreads the ring. |
| Red wine | Blot, then sprinkle baking soda over the spot for 10 minutes to lift the pigment. Vacuum, then blot with cool water. |
| Oil / grease | Cover with cornstarch or talc for 30 minutes to absorb. Brush off, then spot clean with a pH-neutral fabric cleaner. |
| Ink / makeup | Stop and call us — these need solvent-based treatment that can void self-clean attempts. Email support@pumela.com first. |
Things to avoid
- Bleach, ammonia, or any solvent labeled "do not use on fabric"
- Steam cleaners and carpet shampooers — too much heat and moisture
- Direct sunlight more than 4 hours a day (will fade the dye)
- Heat sources within 30 cm — radiators, fireplaces, hot air vents
- Sitting on the piece in damp clothes (swimwear, gym kit)
